The president of the American Farm Bureau Federation says he is optimistic the new farm bill will be completed by the end of the year.
Zippy Duvall tells Brownfield the four agriculture committee leaders have confidence a bill can pass the finish line, but says time is an enemy as the window narrows to get a bill passed by September 30.
“The legislative calendar is getting full and short.”
He says getting money for the farm bill is also a challenge, but nothing new.
