Tennessee received substantial rainfall during the past week, helping crops and pastures recover from dry conditions. USDA reporters say some counties received two and a half inches of rain or more in a single day. Several central and western Tennessee counties remain abnormally dry, but the outlook for them has improved. Topsoil moisture is reported as 23 percent surplus and 70 percent adequate, with similar subsoil readings.
The storms did bring some flooding and wind damage to some parts of the state.
