Slight improvements in Nebraska corn, soybeans after week of rain, severe weather

Nebraska crop conditions improved last week due to timely rains.

The USDA says 62 percent of the corn crop is rated good-to-excellent with 77 percent silking and 39 percent in the dough stage.

Soybeans are 56 percent good-to-excellent with 33 percent setting pods.

Forty-three precent of winter wheat harvest has wrapped up.

Pasture and range conditions are rated 59 percent good-to-excellent.

Topsoil moisture is rated 45 percent adequate-to-surplus and subsoil moisture is 44 percent adequate-to-surplus.
