An agronomist says soybean cyst nematode (SCN) is becoming a greater challenge for farmers as it increases resistance.
Bill Backhaus with BASF says SCN continues to be the leading cause of soybean yield loss in North America. “Across the entire Midwest, most counties and areas have it at different levels. If you have more sand in your field, you’ll actually have higher incidents of it.”
He tells Brownfield variety selection and placement are critical management strategies.
