Rains help boost Illinois crop conditions

Scattered rains across Illinois have improved overall crop conditions.

The USDA reports as of Sunday Illinois corn is rated 58% good to excellent, up 9 percentage points on the week and soybeans are also rated 58% good to excellent, up 12 points.

Northwest Illinois farmer Randy DeSutter tells Brownfield 10 inches of rain in the last month has corn and soybeans in his area looking better following the June drought.
