Wheat harvest is underway across Missouri and USDA says it’s nearly half done in the state, well ahead of average.

Ray-Carroll County Grain Growers Grain Origination Manager Clint Boon says winter wheat harvest is just getting started with the co-op’s farmers in west-central Missouri. He says yields and quality are better than expected and that’s surprising, considering the dry conditions.

“It’s in the 60 to 80 bushel/acre range and the quality is fantastic, overall.
