Across the Corn Belt, cooler, drier air is arriving in the wake of generally beneficial showers and thunderstorms.  Friday’s high temperatures should range from near 75°F in the vicinity of the eastern Great Lakes to 95°F or higher in the southwestern Corn Belt.  Despite recent rainfall, Missouri led the nation on July 9 with 39% of its corn and 32% of its soybeans rated in very poor to poor condition.  National very poor to poor values on that date stood at 14 and 15%, respectively.
