Disease concerns creeping in for Michigan corn, soybean farmer

Michigan farmers are preparing for disease pressure following warm, wet weather.

Mike Milligan spoke with Brownfield while spraying his soybeans Thursday. “I’m very nervous about mold and disease issues in general, our corn’s getting sprayed for tar spot next week,” he says.

Milligan says he finished wheat harvest last week and had several rain delays that led to many quality issues. “Just flat out didn’t have a window to harvest, it just stayed wet, a lot of sprouts and falling number issues with our wheat crop this year,” he says.
