LeRoy, Kan. — Put on by the LeRoy Homecoming Association, this year’s celebration is all about diamonds as the community of LeRoy celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Diamond Jubilee, where numerous businesses and community members in town get together for a weekend of fun festivities.
The theme this year is “Diamond in the Rough” and it kicks off on Aug. 25 with the Co-Ed Softball tournament, then goes through the whole weekend with a parade and street dance, then finishes on Sunday with a demolition derby.

Friday, Aug. 25
6 PM: Co-Ed Softball Tournament at the West Ball Field

8:15 PM Movie in the Park, Provided by the LeRoy Branch: THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE, Junior Concession stand at Pride Stand in Homecoming Park (popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones)
Saturday, Aug. 26
6:30 AM: Homecoming Hustle Registration at Community Building, contact Lindsay Beyer
7:30 AM: Homecoming Hustle 5K / 1 Mile
9 AM: Kids Races at SCC Football Field, sponsored by Citizens State Bank – Ages 0-10

10:30 AM: Diamond Dig at Homecoming Park – A new spin on the old haystack dig this year. Each color of gem will correlate to a dollar amount to collect.This event follows the Kids Races.

11 AM – 3 PM: Funtastic Inflatables at Homecoming Park
11 AM: Denim and Diamond Baby Contest at Homecoming Park, contact Laurie Goracke

11:30 AM: Turtle Race at Homecoming Park, contact Crystal Decker – $100 in payouts. Juice and fruit snacks will be given to all that enter.

4 PM: Homecoming Parade (also diamond themed) Line-Up at Masonic Lodge #27 – $50 to every float that enters.
4:30 PM: Homecoming Parade on Main Street
5:30 PM: Community BBQ Dinner at Homecoming Park, Luther’s Smokehouse, (Free Will Donation) New this year will be kid packs that will contain a hotdog, chips, fruit cup and cookie in case little ones prefer that over a bbq meal.
6 PM: Winners Announced (Parade, Dessert) at Homecoming Park
8 PM – 12 AM: Street Dance with CLEVERMAX Main Street (Denim & Diamonds themed)
8:30 PM- 10:30 PM: Mechanical Bull Downtown (Rides $5)
11 PM: Biscuits and Gravy (served by the Barnhouse Cafe)
Sunday, Aug. 27
7 AM – 10 AM: Class of 2024 Breakfast at Community Building
8 AM: Archery Shoot at West Ball Field, contact Walker Harred or Joey Bishop
9 AM – 2 PM: Annual Car Show at City Park
10 AM: Community Church Service at LeRoy Assembly Church of God Church, Worship provided by the First Christian Church of LeRoy
11:30 AM – 1:30 PM: Spaghetti Lunch and Silent Auction provided by Love, LeRoy at Community Building
2 PM: Demolition Derby by Pay Up Sucker

After Conclusion of Derby – Greased Pig Contest (Pigs donated by Eric Castle) at the West Ball Field
There will be a sticker on the back and whoever gets it off will have a chance to win a surprise amount of money. Kids first and adults will be able to participate after.
